I first met Kevin in March 2009 and he instantly understood the issues and frustrations I had with the funding structure and poor service from our then bank funding provider. My accountant introduced me to Kevin Johnson at Panoptic Ledger Solutions back in June 2011 after I had tried to get a small overdraft from my bank to help me with short term cash flow to pay a supplier and fund a large order simultaneously. I had also spoken to a number of other advisors and finance brokers without success before meeting Kevin.
My bank at the time was insisting on a disproportionate and high level of personal security (in Kevin's opinion), and taking their time to authorise the overdraft fully. It felt like I was been pushed into Factoring rather than letting my company have an overdraft. I was feeling under great pressure at the time as the business was potentially under threat, even though it was getting some good orders but needed to fund them.
Within a few hours of meeting Kevin, he explained why he believed the bank was reacting like it was and suggested a number of short and medium term cash flow options that suited me. The amount of stress taken off my shoulders was something I was not expecting to happen so quickly and his approach was uniquely refreshing as he worked directly for me, from my side of the table.
The short term result was a meeting with my original bank to accelerate the delivery of the overdraft money, whilst at the same time finding me a Confidential Invoice Discounting (CID) line with a new bank to fund the future growth. I chose to move banks in the end, even though I didn't have to. Kevin delivered on both cash flow problem and product. I still use the CID line now. Kevin handled all face to face negotiations with the banks on my behalf.
More recently, in February 2014, I needed to fund the purchase of a new production machine after paying cash for it, and the banks were dragging their heels again, even though it was only a £30k purchase. The rates quoted were also high through the bank Asset Finance division. Kevin organised a loan via a peer to peer lender and at much better rates within a couple of weeks and it was a simple process for me to understand.
Kevin's knowledge and contacts have a proven track record with me over three years and his friendly approach makes it easy to discuss any cash flow challenges I may experience. Most importantly Kevin provided a number of options and delivered as promised in both cases I have needed to use Panoptic.
